A chore I despise:
Unloading the dishwasher.
October 2, 2010
is the day we are getting married!
So I put my hands up
They’re playing my song,
And the butterflys fly away...
– MC, Party in the USA. I can’t help but like this song. (via grumpypantalones)
I officially love her after this morning and love this song. (via pinkseersucker)
I really feel like this is such a cheesy, teeny bopper anthem-type song, but I really, really love it!
A question for the masses:
Buffet-style dinner or sit-down plated dinner at a wedding?
Which one? Why?
(Mark thinks a buffet is tacky. Is he right?)
Oh, Mark...
We are a little stressed about the wedding right now - being a bit hassled on money issues from family members - and I sounded rather DOWN on my last phone call with Mark.
He just wrote me a long email about how things will work out and everything is fine and he’s so excited to be married to me.
And he ends it with this,
“I LOVE YOU! Every single thing about you! Everything good...
UConn Replaces Cheerleaders With 'Spirit Squad' →
I WAS a high school and college cheerleader and this is absolutely ridiculous! It’s basically like lowering standards for the football team by saying that we’re eliminating full contact from the sport of football so that a 5’2”, 120 pound freshman is able to join the team.
Lowering standards of an entire sport so that more people can participate? ESPECIALLY at a Division...
This is hysterical! Minus the part where Susan is...

Date: 2009-06-25, 2:18AM EDT I was running to catch the 9 train, early in the morning tuesday. Apparently I wasn’t the only one: I saw you down the subway stop ahead of me. You were sprinting, and...
I love when I write Mark a short email that asks...
“I LOVE YOU, FIANCE!”
And even though he totally didn’t respond to the question, how could I get annoyed?!
My night:
Annie’s shells and white cheddar
Homemade brownies
DVR’d reruns of Seinfeld
Researching fun wedding details that I totally don’t have to think about for like 9 months
Going to bed within the next hour (when Mark’s away, Ralphie gets to snuggle in bed with Mama!)
Because I have nothing else to write about...
The overwhelming response to my earlier question about Friday or Sunday weddings was…have it on a Friday!
I WAS on the Sunday boat, due to my future MIL’s suggestion that our guests would only have to take Monday off from work.
But THEN. I decided that Sunday did not really have a PARTY type of vibe and people may want to leave early to try and avoid using a vacation day on Monday....
If you found an amazing waterfront wedding venue...
Which would you choose? Friday or Sunday?
WHEW!
As if anyone cares…we saw another 8 venues today and have finally narrowed it down to 3.
1. Historic mansion, close to home, gorgeous grounds.
2. Historic inn, in the country, amazing garden with 200 year old stone wall for the ceremony.
3. Historic mansion, on the ocean, beautiful gardens and terrace.
They’re basically all the same price, numbers 1 and 2 have the date...
Madness!
This weekend we visited 4 potential wedding sites. I absolutely HATED two of them (think cheesy, generic reception hall), I liked one (a New England farm!) but it was really out of the way and would require a tent (don’t love that idea) and I loved the last.
The one I loved actually turned out to be the one I posted about on Saturday that I didn’t like, but in comparison to the...
Changing our minds AGAIN...
So I don’t think we’re going to buy that amazing house. While we certainly can afford it, it may put us in a tighter spot than we’d like considering that we have a wedding to pay for in the next year and don’t expect much financial help.
Although I was IN LOVE with that house and could literally picture Mark and I living there, raising a little one there, I’m...
Speaking of Afghanistan...
I spoke with my boss today about the possibility of going back there this fall. For a month.
Mark is going to flip his lid when I tell him.
I’m getting taken out to lunch today by my grandfatherly coworker on account of my straight A’s earned during the summer semester. We’re going at 12:45 and it’s only 12:22 and I’m so hungry I could eat my freaking arm.
Time, speed up!
WHAT is Tumblarity?!
When I DO post and people start following me and “like” and reblog my posts, the number goes down.
But when I don’t post for days, it goes up and up and up.
Whose BRILLIANT idea was Tumblarity, anyway?! I’d love to know the logic behind it.
Thanks Stephanie for the follow up! I know it is a lot to absorb!!! Do let me...
– An email from the Sales Manager at a wedding venue I recently inquired about. I think the exclamation point is her favorite punctuation mark. At least I know she’s there for me!!! !!! !!! !! !! ! ! ! ! !
Not happy.
My dad just informed me he will not help us with the down payment on the house because “I expect you to make your own way”. I have NEVER asked him for money before, not since I was in high school, and I’m asking for a LOAN. He owns MULTIPLE motorcycles, ATVs and has more vehicles than there are drivers in the house. Also, he just told me that for our wedding, he’d be giving...

Today isn't as bad as I'd imagined.
My patience wasn’t tested as I’d thought it would be.
My number of unread emails is steadily decreasing.
I have completed one of my urgent tasks for the day.
I have already talked to the house seller who is willing to work with us so he can get the house off his hands and avoid another mortgage payment.
It's going to be a busy day.
I have a work meeting that is going to test my patience like never before.
I have a scarily large number of unread emails in my inbox that need attention.
I have multiple URGENT items to complete before the day’s end that my organization’s funding depends upon.
I have to devise a strategy for talking this evening to the seller of the house that we’ve put an offer on.
