Mark and I spent our Saturday spending money and buying ALL THE THINGS, so much so that I’m terrified to look at our bank account this morning and assess the damage.
Mark got new fall boots and a full set of new tires for the car, I got velour skinny jeans (thanks a lot, Stephanie! And just to be clear, I did not shell out $200 cash for those babies - I had a Groupon to a local boutique), we got several reusable bags full of earthy crunchy foods at Trader Joe’s and I went a little crazy at the race expo and purchased one of every kind of sport gel/gummy available.
First question: Is Thanksgiving too early to wear my new velour pants?
Second question: Where do you store your Gu while running?! I first pinned it to my shirt but the flapping around drove me nuts. Then I put it in my waistband but it kept falling down my pants. Then I held it but the little strap ripped and I kept almost dropping it. Finally, I jammed it down my sports bra which took some getting used to but actually worked.
Until I got in the shower after the race and experienced an intense burning sensation when my chest was hit with hot water - I have a SEVERE chafing situation from that damn Gu packet in my bra for 13 miles. Super fun and sexy.
So yeah: Velour pants at Thanksgiving and Gu storage location?

  6. shaba said: I bought a belt pack for my 1/2. One with extra water storage (because I am apparently always dehydrated and can’t run more than 2 miles without my own supply of water). I think it worked well. Wasn’t too annoying and had fun storage for jelly beans!

About

Avatar I live in Virginia but I don’t stay put for very long. I’m a nonprofit worker extraordinaire, and I love to climb mountains and travel to places no one else wants to go.

I love to cook and bake and drink prosecco, and run and practice yoga. I love beautiful home interior design and a good bargain.

I have a quirky little beagle/bassett/dalmatian named Ralphie and a fantastic, adventurous husband named Mark.
