February 9: Front door
This house hunting business is hard. We’ve seen dozens of houses over the past few months and only one has been “perfect”. Our first wishlist included 3+ bedrooms, a big, flat backyard, within our budget and, well, that’s basically it.
Now that we’ve seen nearly 50 houses, we’ve decided we do NOT want a pool, we DO want well-maintained neighbors’ houses, we do NOT want a completely open floor plan, we DO want a formal dining room, etc, etc.
We almost put an offer on an amazing house this week but the price tag didn’t jive with the cost of updates needed and we had to let it go.
A house came on the market this morning that looks “perfect” once again. Lovely neighborhood, updated, well within our price range, big-but-not-too-big, and most importantly: charm. Tell me this house is not something out of a dream.
Maybe, just maybe, this front door will be ours.

oh cute! what sucks too is in that area you’re dealing with jet noise/crash rating factors and flood planes. which makes it even harder
