The school facilities in rural Malawi are lacking, to say the least. The roof of this schoolhouse had blown off in a storm earlier this year, the community has no money to fix it and the government refuses to help.
So the children get their lessons sitting on the dirt floor, on top of the pieces of destroyed roof, and are forced under a grass-roofed shelter when it rains. They’re still just happy to be learning and are very excited for their new school facility that we’re building.
The energy, the positivity, despite the challenges is humbling and inspiring.
